Format Changing!

Since the readers of Seagoville News have turned the forum into basically a "Hillbilly free-for-all".... full of insults, obscene comments, and giving people who view it from outside Seagoville, the idea that Seagoville is full of a bunch of rednecks with no social redeeming value, I have decided to make some changes in the format of the site as a whole.  Believe it or not, there are thousands of people outside Seagoville that view this site on a regular basis.  Based on hit stats that I am able to view as administrator, Seagoville News is viewed an average of  around 55,000 times per month.   I reset the counter on a regualr basis, and view the stats.  I am also able to get a read on the areas that all these hits come from..  About two thirds of those hits come from areas other than Seagoville.  Seagoville News is viewed many thousands of times per month more than the City of Seagoville web site, and viewed many thousands times per month than the local newpaper.  Not that there has been anything of importance on Seagoville News lately, there hasn't.  People drop by this site becase it has been up and running continuously for over 6 years.

Since you folks don't mind giving those from other areas the impression that possibly Seagoville deserves the reputation it currently has...... one of a crime & drug infested town, that is rapidly becoming an extension of Pleasant Grove...... I am going to change the format of the site as a whole.  I haven't decided if I am going to allow the forum to continue.  I know I am going to clean it up, and get rid of the ridiculous, and obscene posts for sure.  If you chose not to use it in a productive, and pleasant manner, that will become evident quickly.  You have been given the opportunity to present your city, on the web, in any manner you chose.  In the first 2 years of Seagoville News, it was a very powerful tool, and used by many to effect change in Seagoville.   But recently,  you have chosen to disrespect yourselves,  and the town you live in.  Responsibility, has not been your strong suit.  You have made your own reputation here.  A lot of the city Fathers have followed suit, and chose to ignore hard issues.  Turning a blind eye to the root problems of drugs and crime in Seagoville.  Choosing rather, to devote their efforts to easy, feel good issues.  I am amazed at why people can't seem to understand why the growth in Seagoville has slowed dramatically, when the causes are right in front of your eyes. 

A group of people have approached me with the idea of making changes to Seagoville News.  They would like to take advantage of the fact that it has been around for quite some time, and try to address real issues.  I applaud that. I am considering giving them access to the site, and giving them certain priviledges that would allow them to publish what they have to say on a regular basis.  The promotion of their content would be solely up to them.  Finally, at least someone has initiative, and pride.

The forum will be cleared of the garbage on it with in 24 hours.
