14. General Summary Of Events
    • ** TORNADO OUTBREAK **
    • A tornado outbreak started in our area, and then swept east into IL. The storms developed first in Caroll County, the storm started to weaken and soon fizzled, A second and third area developed. the second area developed in DeKalb County, and then pushed into Harrison and Daviess Counties, and into Mercer and Putnam counties, Weather Service had DeKalb county under a warning for a half hour, before the storm pushed into northern daviess county near coffey and prompted a tornado warning, No reported of any tornadic damage were reported in the coffey area. This storm tracked northeast into Mercer County. A severe thunderstorm warning was Issued, the storm did produce a tornado 10SE of Princeton in Mercer county, which damaged two buldings, before it moved into Putnam county, Where several large violent tornadoes where reported.
    • The third area moved up into northern caroll county, Around 315pm, NW0B, brookfield fire chief, was notifed of a storm with rotation, I advised him the storm was tracking toward linneus and brookfield. at 347pm the weather service issued a tornado warning for Linn county, At 401pm, our spotter in Linneus reported a tornado crossing the hiway, the tornado was rain-wrapped, he also reported around 80mph winds. no major damage was reported in Linneus, however, about 3e of linneus some trees were downed by the tornado. the storm moved up and into adair county by 440pm. A fourth area of storms produced a tornado in eastern caroll county, and the rotation tracked into Chartion county, and passed just south of Marceline.
