You can say any fool thing to a dog, and the dog will give you this look that says, `My God, you're RIGHT! I NEVER would've thought of that!

Sutter was a stray pup wandering aimlessly around the neighborhood. Nearly everyone, including us, tried to run her off. After all, the last thing we needed was a dog.

Then one day Betty decided to befriend her. From that moment on she became part of our family. She's about two years old and full of energy. She is a beautiful black Lab mix weighing about 70 pounds--all muscle. That's pretty big for a lap dog; that's what she thinks she is.

Shiraz was also a stray pup. We found her at the dog pound operated by Ward. We connected with her right away and decided she would be a good companion for Sutter.

Shiraz is a Dutch Shepard about 7 months old. She has all the ill manners of any puppy that age. She was under-nourished and under-loved when the pound took her in. Lola, the Dog Cop, worked hard to find Shiraz a home. She is a comical little animal with an unmistakable happiness about everything.
